Artist's Comments

This illustration was fueled by a New York Times book review by Janet Maslin, on "Presley" by Alanna Nash, describing Elvis's habit of putting his work before his personal needs.

This was a cool idea to be inspired by the article. The outcome was amazing. :+fav:

thank you very much. It's just rather interesting to know that Elvis never wanted the popularity that he gained, but felt that he had a responsibility to the music to perform.

the symbolism is interesting, at the same time Elvis himself would not like the thorns which are taken from that of those worn by Jesus Christ because he also did not enjoy his fans calling him "The King" and was devout to his religion.
Still nice, though his nose is a bit too big.
